About Ingmar
06 July 2009
Ingmar was born in Feerwerd (31-01-1989) and raised in Eelde.
From the primary school on he has always been interested in music and computers.
At the age of 10 he started taking Cello lessons with Alexandera Vierkant after attending some introductory music courses playing the recorder. He also took guitar courses for a year at the age of 13.
At the age of 14 Ingmar also started playing the piano, and took piano lessons with Boelo Klat, which he still attends to.
When Ingmar started to be active at a musical ensemble in 2001 (first as "actor", then playing the cello and eventually playing the piano) he realized music is very important to him.
After a few years he also became the composer of several youth-musicals written by this ensemble.
While attending secondary school another interest developed: movies and music/sound, and the function of sound in movies. For a final paper in his final year he did a research. Called: (Translated from dutch) “What is the influence of music and sound to the perception of a movie?”
While taking his final exams at secondary school Ingmar was preparing to audition at the Prins Claus Conservatory.
In 2006 Ingmar was admitted to the training course for CMS, which is an abbreviation of “Composition (for movie, games and media) Music and Studio production “, at the Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen.
In 2007 he started in the first year of CMS.
He currently takes lessons with Ivo Witteveen, Daniel Testas and Klaas ten Holt.
In 2010 and 2011 he's working on several projects, most of them on behalf of his final exam at CMS.
One of them is North, a series about international students.
Another project is a collaboration with 10 songwriters, an album called "(no) Hope".
